Frozen Organic Leaf Spinach from Naturally Preferred

Despite Being Frozen, I Thought that This Organic Spinach Tasted Good

I use to get spinach a lot. I made stir-fry several times a week and whenever I did, spinach played a big part in it. Once or twice a week I would make scrabbled eggs and I would add spinach to the eggs as well. It seemed that I always had fresh spinach on hand. That all changed though when there was a spinach recall in mid 2006. Since then, I find myself passing spinach over and over. However, the other day while in the frozen foods section, I noticed some frozen spinach. It was on sale, along with many other frozen vegetables and so I decided to get one of each. I put a bag of Frozen Organic Leaf Spinach from Naturally Preferred in my shopping cart.

The other frozen vegetables that I got on this shopping trip includedFrozen Organic Corn, Frozen Organic Green Peas, Frozen Organic Green Beans and Frozen Organic Mixed Vegetables. All of these frozen vegetables were from Naturally Preferred. I enjoyed them and so I thought that the company would have some nice spinach. The organic spinach was not going to be going into stir-fry or scrambled eggs this time. I just wanted to see how it tasted so I cooked it by the direction of the cooking instructions on the bag. I figured that this would be the best way to make sure that I prepared the spinach correctly, so it would taste good. Plus I figured it would be quick and I could see how it tasted pretty fast.

The directions to cook the Frozen Organic Leaf Spinach from Naturally Preferred were very easy to follow. The first thing that I needed to do was bring some water to a boil, about one fourth of a cup. Once the water was boiling I had to add the frozen spinach to it and wait for the water to return to a boil. Now that frozen spinach was in boiling water I had to cover it and then turn the heat down to medium. From here the only thing that I needed to do was stir the spinach after four or five minutes and then wait another four or five minutes to let the spinach finish cooking. I wasn't expecting the spinach to taste as good as fresh spinach but I hoped that I would not regret getting it.

From what I can remember the few times that I had gotten frozen spinach I thought it was so, so. When it comes to the Frozen Organic Leaf Spinach from Naturally Preferred though I thought that it was actually pretty good, despite being frozen. It didn't have a slimy texture that sometimes comes with frozen spinach and it still had a lot of good flavor in it. I was very pleased how it turned out and didn't regret getting it at all. The bag contained about two and one-third cups of spinach. I knew this from looking over the nutrition facts, that said that there was about three and a half two-third cup servings.

In a serving of Frozen Organic Leaf Spinach from Naturally Preferred there is only thirty calories. Also this amount of spinach contains one hundred and twenty milligrams of sodium, three grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fiber, less than one gram of sugars and two grams of protein. In the minerals and vitamins portion it listed iron with four percent, calcium with eight percent, vitamin C with two percent and vitamin A with fifty percent. I thought that these nutrition facts were great and I definitely see myself getting this frozen organic spinach again. I would recommend for anyone to do the same.
