Fructose is normally seen in honey, soft drinks, corn syrups and fruit juices. People who take more of the soft drinks and the fruit juices are at a greater risk of Type 2 diabetes and obesity than others.
Fructose is a monosaccharide, which is absorbed intact and later changed into glucose by the liver. It is considered to be more harmful than the other sugars as it directly affects the brain.
While Glucose is known to decrease the appetite, Fructose increases the appetite. This means that one will be tempted to eat more, which will normally add more fats and calories to the body. Once the calories are added up, it leads to many complications like obesity.
Fructose decreases the minerals, which are needed for insulin production. This sugar will not help in the secretion of Insulin that is needed for storing sugars in muscles.
Well, cut short the soft drinks and other junk or processed foods, which all contain Fructose. You may come across labels in processed food and soft drinks like "no adder sugars". But they do not talk of Fructose. Beware of the dangers that lie inside the packed foods and soft drinks.
Every other day a person is diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Moreover the world is becoming obese day by day.
