Ingredients

Serves 10
3/4 lbs Ground beef, chuck or turkey
1 can V-8 Juice
1 package McCormicks Medium Chili Mix
2-15 ounce cans Dark Red Kidney Beans
1 - 27 ounce can Bush's Best Chili Bans
optional/to taste Chili Powder, Franks Red Hot Sauce

Directions for Frugal Living Recipes: Slow Cooker Chili

1
Brown beef
Using a non stick skillet brown ground beef, chuck or turkey. If using turkey be sure to use a little non stick spray or olive oil or it may stick to your pan while cooking and crumbling.
2
Slow cook
Drain dark red kidney beans. Add dark kidney beans, Bush's Chili Beans, and McCormick's mix to slow cooker. Add beef. Stir. Let cook about an hour and then check on it stirring. If you like a little more spice add either more chili powder or Franks Red Hot Sauce as you cook, layering the flavors. Top with your choice of diced onions, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese and/or Martha White Yellow Cornbread made according to package instructions.,
Tip
The trick to this recipe is to allow it to slow cook for a few hours before serving so the spices get into the meat and beans. It is actually better the next day after it sits and get's a little thicker.

I will be having a baby next week so the easier and more frugal the better! Thanks so much! Sounds very tasty. :)

I would definitely have to omit the hot sauce. I have a really delicate palate!
