Fruit2day was introduced in the United States back in May of 2009 after its popularity had grown so much over in Europe. The bottles that Fruit2Day comes packaged in are shaped like two round pieces of fruit that are stacked on top of each other and is a snack, which is to be sipped and chewed. One bottle of Fruit2Day is supposed to have 2 days worth of fruit inside. The concept of Fruit2Day is being able to snack on fruit without all the mess.
I received a sample of Fruit2Day in the mail the other to try and after I read the ingredients of this I was a little hesitant to try it. I was unsure of just how big the bits of fruit would be. Fruit2Day comes in a plastic container, which holds 6.75 ounces of juice. There is a picture of grapes all over the bottom and the top part has pictures of cherries. I opened the green twist off lid and looked at the stuff first and then took a sniff of it to see if I even wanted to taste it. The smell of this juice reminds me quite a lot of Gerber Plum Baby food and the color reminds me of Gerber plum juice.
Fruit2Day Cherry Grape does not taste as good as any of the Gerber Baby foods or juice does. (Yes I have tasted baby food) Fruit2Day does contain bits of fruit as it says, but the consistency is not at all to my liking. Your mouth feels like there is a gritty residue left over after you take a sip of this. The fruit bits in the Cherry Grape are tiny pieces of pears which just do not taste good at all to me. Your mouth is expecting juice but then all of a sudden you start detecting something floating around in your mouth and realize it's the bits of fruit in this product. I just do not care for the taste or texture of this product.
If the bits of fruit were fruit pulp like that in orange juice then this would be a great juice product. The bits of fruit were bigger than I thought they would be so I would not recommend letting a child under the age of five drink this juice. Even the elderly may have trouble drinking this juice and would choke on the bits of fruit. The grape taste of this product was very subtle. For this product to be Cherry/Grape flavor, all I could taste was pear, which I do not care for at all.
Ingredients for Fruit2Day are listed on the back of the bottle:
Apple juice from concentrates and purees, banana puree, pear pieces, red grape juice from concentrate, cherry puree, acerola cherry juice from concentrate and natural flavors.
There is a pro and con for Fruit2Day. The pro -enjoy fruit without the mess. The Con is the grittiness residue feeling your mouth is left with after drinking this.
There are several Fruit2Day flavor combinations to choose from: Strawberry/Orange, Pineapple/Banana, Cherry/Grape, Mango/Peach and can be found in your grocer's chilled fruit section close to the milk and other chilled juices.
I give Fruit2day one star because the texture and taste of this product is not to my liking and the price of $3.79 for 2 bottles is a little steep for my pocketbook.

Post a CommentThe texture would totally turn me off.....
I never heard of this before. It doesn't sound good
Thank you for this review. I was waiting for a sale or good coupon. Now I will just skip it!
I have not tried this but am going to now thanks
I tried Fruit2Day also and agree with you. I did not like the tidbits of fruit mixed in with the juice. I wasn't sure whether to drink it or chew it or both. I also agree that some of the chunks were fairly large and could pose a choking hazard. I like the concept of a portable version of fruit but I'm not sure this product has all the kinks worked out yet. Good review ♥
The texture does sound pretty strange. I like that it's 2 days worth of fruit, but I don't think I could get around the stuff floating in my mouth.
Great review. But doesn't sound like anything I would like at all.
