Fruits: Where Has the Flavor Gone?

Tashi
People of my generation can remember with a quaint amount of longing when fruits such as Oranges, Peaches, Watermelons, Grapefruits, Grapes, and the like had a sweetness of flavor to them and with this past awareness every bite of a fruit now brings a disappointing nostalgia of the good old days when fruits had a sweet natural taste to them and there is not much of any reason for debate as to why fruits now taste this way and that is because of a human induced deterioration of the organic chemistry in the fruits themselves. One reason that is of human cause in the present lack of fruits having a fruity flavor is in the rain that falls to nourish them that is now very contaminated with human produced chemicals and there is a very simple experiment that can be performed to prove this as being a case in point and that is by simply washing the laundry and then hanging it out to dry and allowing it to be caught in rainfall.

The above experiment will graphically prove the extent of atmospheric contamination that modern humans have produced in the evidence of the discoloration and polluted stench of those clothing's that have been hung out to dry and caught in the rain. This new generation does not know what they are missing because they have no experience of pre-demoralized fruits with its manifestation of mechanical taste buds that knows only of what it has experienced in current times. The chemicals that are used to enhance food production and growth, protect it from insects and rodents and to preserve it are well documented so there is no need to go into this aspect of tasteless fruits, however the consequences of this human aid to food harvest has as a byproduct the contamination of the entire earth's biosphere which can and is being mentioned as a tasteless fruit topic of discussion. Human contaminated rain water falls and soaks into the ground and everything that needs water for nourishment digests this chemically altered substance resulting in a bilaterally haphazard genetic altering in the basic cell structure of the consumers of this tainted rainwater.

The outside and inside colors of today's fruits looks the same as it did during the good old tasty days but this is only an optical illusion that satisfies a pleasing visual affect but satisfies nothing in the area of being tastefully appetizing and since the taste has been so dissolved one can only assume that the nutritional value of today's fruits can also be called in suspect. As previously inferred commercially produced fruits are not the sole tasteless culprits because human produced soil contamination filters into the above and underground water channels and is carried into every facet of the earth's ecological system affecting both the large and small farmers along with the home gardeners who grow fruits for personal consumption and or to sell at fruit stands and markets. The look of today's fruits may be deceiving but one bite tells the true nature of the beast and the story that it conveys is a tale of corrupt desserts masquerading as a tasteful and wholesome treat.

Today's young people have no knowledge of what fruits are suppose to taste like because they are growing up eating artificial hybrids that has the look but not the taste of the natural produce and yet people of my generation continue to purchase fruits hoping against the current realism of the tasteless fruitiness of today's fruits for a rewarding palatable treat. The earth's variety is relentlessly being transformed into an indistinguishable blob under the onslaughts of supposed human knowledge and technical advancements and one may presume it but the lost of the flavor that use to be contained in the fruits is not at all a light or trivial matter because it is a broad statement on the amount of damage that humankind has and is continuing to inflict upon the earth's ecosystem with its increasing mushrooming of viruses and deceases and illnesses as a byproduct that is slowly eroding the quality of human life at a time when people on average are living longer which only produces a longer period of suffering that individuals must endure.

Those of my generation who are conscious of this tasteless fruitiness of today's fruits have little alternative save to purchase or grow and hope for the best because what has been done and is being done to the earth's environment will take years or even generations to correct and that is only if mindfulness is brought into the food production equations and greed is substituted for environmental appreciation. Fruits should be eaten with fondness and a burp should not be a mental association with what cardboard must taste like and yet for now this is where the taste of today's fruits stands and who knows of what tomorrow that the fruit vendor will bring but judging by the current trend it will only be even more tasteless fruity contamination to be eaten by desensitized taste-buds who having no past experience with natural flavors will accept this as being normal in fruity taste.
