Fruity Pebbles: A Review

I have always been a fan of Fruity Pebbles cereal made by the Post cereal company. I normally do not purchase this product on a regular basis because I am always trying to save money and I buy primarily store brand products. While shopping at my local Kroger grocery store 2 weeks ago I noticed that Post Fruity Pebbles were on sale for $1.50 for a large 17 ounce family sized package, making this national brand product less expensive than the Kroger brand, so naturally I bought the bigger box at a lower price. In this review I will share my thoughts about this well known and loved brand of cereal.

What I like about Post Fruity Pebbles sweetened rice cereal is that it is a great source of essential vitamins and minerals such as zinc, folic acid, vitamin b12, vitamin b6, niacin, thiamin, iron, calcium, vitamin a, vitamin c, vitamin d and riboflavin. I like that a serving is a generous ¾ cup and contains 110 calories and only 1 gram of fat. This cereal contains no cholesterol and is lower in sugar than you might expect. Also this cereal is a great source of fiber and has 1 gram of protein in each serving.

Kids and adults alike have enjoyed Post Fruity Pebbles for many years and I am sure this product will be popular for many more years. When comparing the national brand to the store brand of Fruity Pebbles you really cannot tell the difference between the two brands except for the packaging. I will purchase Fruity Pebbles when ever I find them on sale for less than the store brand. However I cannot say that I would recommend the Post brand of Fruity Pebbles over the store or generic brands because they taste almost the same and you cannot really tell a difference between the two.

I personally enjoy having cold cereal as a snack because I don't have time to sit down for breakfast most mornings, and I grab a granola bar and head out, but I love cereal. I think having a bowl of Post Fruity Pebbles as a snack is a healthier option than having a cookie or a candy bar. At least this way I am getting more than empty calories and I am getting essential vitamins and minerals without a lot of fat or sugar. I would recommend Post Fruity Pebbles or a store brand version of this product to anyone.
