Fruity Poems

P.A. Brown
If I were a strawberry
I'd be better than a cherry
Better than grapes
That got ate by apes on bubble gum tape
I'd be the brightest of the bright
Juicy and ripe
But I'd have to hide out
So I won't be in your mouth

Before I knew it there were no more left
I was so amazed I couldn't believe myself
"No more grapes," I said with a frown
He looked up at me and said, "Yeah you chuffed em all down!"

Where did it come from, what island, what tree
Cracking it open brings a small sense of glee
Hard outside, soft inside
Man I can't wait for the juicy ride
My cantaloupe has such sweet taste
None of it will go to waste
