Frustrated Writer

A Poem About Inspiration or the Lack Thereof

Allana Calhoun
Inspiration,
why do you elude my grasp?
Give me an idea,
is that such a hard task?
You slip through my fingers,
even after I've thought I've got you
or you give me an idea
that isn't anything new.
Why can't you do it right?
You elude me in the day
and hit me in the night.
But there'll be a day,
where I'll get you yet.
Don't try to escape,
my mind is truly set.

Yep - that's why I stick to politics - never a shortage of fodder there. Nice Tink!

You express frustration very well in words. I know this feeling too.

Yes I know writer's block all to well. Good poem!

Know the feeling all too well, what to write about is a hard idea to achieve. Never have seen the necessity to having 900 articles about a news cast but.....good read thanks!
