Frye Campus Lug Lace Boot

The New Fall 2011 Frye Campus Womens Lug Lace and Other Comparable Boot Styles

Tonya Brisnehan
The Frye Campus Lug Lace boot is a new addition to the women's Frye collection for fall 2011. In my humble opinion, this is not only one of the most rockin' looks for this year, but in the entire Frye collection, ever. Constructed from a durable leather, it has a 15 inch shaft which makes it one of the taller styles available. It has lacing from the instep all the way up the front to the top of the shaft. Couple this look with a lug outsole and a bit of a rugged edge to it overall, and you have quite a look that I believe women will be searching for this year, and in years to come. At this time this boot is available in two colors including Banana and Black and has a retail price of around $360.

For those ladies who have a penchant for an edgy look, this specific boot is an excellent choice. However if you are still searching for the perfect tall lace up boot style, here are a few other picks for this year:

Frye Rogan Tall Lace Zip Boot:

This Rogan boot has some similar features to the Campus Lug Lace, having lacing all the way up the front, yet the metal eyelets add a sort of hiking boot look to the style. It also has a side zipper for easy entry, but in contrast to the Lug Lace boot, it has a rounded toe. This is also a rockin style, that is getting plenty of rave reviews and is generally mentioned to be the best for ladies with thin calves but can be adjusted through its lacing to fit a bit wider. It comes in Dark Brown and Black and has a retail price of around $400.

Sendra Plana Ginza Boot:

This boot has more bells and whistles compared to the Frye Campus Lug Lace, yet has lacing half way up the front and has a lugged sole for that rugged look. This boot also has a buckled strap around the ankle with a chain wrapping around under the foot and up the other side. If I were to say that any of the boots on this list rocks, this one takes the cake. Also constructed of top quality leather, and a zip for easy on and off. This boot comes in two dark, rich color combinations and has a retail price of around $550.

Sendra Street Muir Boot:

This boot has some strong contrasts to the Frye Campus Lug Lace, yet it is still a style that has lacing all the way up, the side that is. This boot has a similarity to an Engineer style, with a buckled strap across the instep and has a sleek overall look, with a pull on construction adjustable with the side lacing. It comes in Black and has a retail price of around $495.

The Frye Campus Lug Lace boot is a wonderful new release for ladies this year, and while my own tastes lie right with this boot, you might find any of the others on this list a bit more to your liking.
