Frye Cavalry 12R Boot for Women
The New for 2011 Women's Cavalry Boot and Other Styles to Compare it To
I have been writing a great deal about new women's footwear hitting the shelves for fall of 2011 and among the classic boot styles for ladies the Frye Cavalry 12R boot takes front and center stage. This new women's boot from Frye has the unmistakable air of a true classic, and that is because it is. This boot is a comeback of a boot that was originally created back in the 1930s, having the familiar look of the Harness 12R, yet with even a more timeless appearance. If you want a boot that will literally go with just about everything in your closet, this is an excellent pick. At this writing the Cavalry 12R is available in two colors for women only but I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be coming out in additional choices soon. The retail price for this boot is around $250.
While I will generally recommend any style of boot from Frye for purchase due to the outstanding quality of their products, there are nevertheless some additional boots that one might want to check out prior to buying the Cavalry:
Frye Harness 12R Boot: The 12R women's boot from Frye is considered by many *the* boot to own, if one doesn't already have the pleasure of wearing something from the Frye collection. It is quite similar to the Cavalry boot in its overall design having the squared off toe and about the same height, yet it has of course the addition of the harness which gives it more of an edge. This is a gorgeous boot and is a must have in any young woman's wardrobe. Available in quite a number of colors and it retails for around $230.
Ariat Legend Boot: This boot is yet another timeless classic for women. This boot, like the Cavalry, has a squared toe but a sharper more defined western style or cowboy boot look. As the name implies, this boot is truly a legend among the Ariat collection and is the "go to" boot for many women. It is available in a few different colors and retails for around $170.
Harley Davidson Hustin Boot: Here is another favorite among classic boots for women. The Hustin boot has quite a similar appearance to both the Cavalry and the Harness 12R, bearing the familiar and edgy harness. Like the others on this list it is constructed with a leather upper. One difference to take note of is the more affordable price, coming in at around $150 retail.
While of course I believe that the Frye Cavalry 12R Boot for Women is a good choice, based on the fact that each of the boots on the list above is already a tried and true version of a women's boot they all appear to be good choices.
