When I first moved to Franklin, Ohio I was in the unique position of not knowing where anything was or how to get around. The first thing I found on my own was the Fu Nin Chinese Restaurant, which is located right on Millard Drive in a shopping center. I've ordered take out and eaten inside the restaurant several times and never once had a bad experience.

Fu Nin Chinese Restaurant is fairly small and I never see many people inside, which is good if you like privacy. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, though they do speak only limited English. I've also noticed that each time I'm there, the daughter of the owner is running around inside, but she's a sweet and friendly girl who can't help but make you smile.

The owner and his wife are both extremely nice and are usually working behind the counter and other relatives work as dishwashers, delivery men and hold down other jobs. Since this is a fairly small town, I've actually run into them at other times and the owner's wife always remembers me and tells me to come back soon, which is a nice treat.

The food at Fu Nin Chinese Restaurant is really great too and made right when you order. You don't have to worry about it coming out cold or greasy because you get it as soon as it's cooked. I've also ordered things different than how it comes on the menu and they never have a problem fixing it differently.

The real negative about Fu Nin is that the dining room isn't very nice. The decorations are broken or chipped, the menu pictures are all outdated and the tables usually have a sticky feel to them. I've also been inside during the winter when the owners had only one heater running and visited in the dead of summer when the air conditioning was turned off and neither time was it comfortable inside.

However the food really makes a trip to Fu Nin worthwhile. Plus if you spend $20 or more, you get a free 2-liter of soda or a free order of Chinese doughnuts. I highly recommend the egg rolls, which are the best I've had anywhere in the Dayton area, the Sesame Chicken with huge hunks of chicken and the General Tao's Chicken, which is extremely hot. I always take visitors and out of town guests to Fu Nin and so far we've never been disappointed.

The restaurant is called Fu Lin, not Fu Nin.
