It's not about packing in as many features as possible with the pocket-sized Fujifilm FinePix F60fd. Rather, you get something manageable with all the latest in consumer technology that will make anyone from a casual family photographer to those who have a collection of DSLRs. Plus, the price, at only $300, makes it attractive to those who don't have a ton of money to put into photography equipment. The Fujifilm FinePix F60fd could definitely contend for best ultra-compact camera of the year in terms of its capabilities.
The Fujifilm Finepix F60fd is certainly not the fastest in the ballpark, but it's nothing to sneeze at either. Shutter lag on pre-focus is about 0.05 seconds. We were okay with that even for a high-end utltra-compact.
To add to the good shutter speed, the Fujifilm Finepix F60fd has a sensor-shift stabilizer/ISO boost combo to max your usable slow-shutter pictures. The button that controls this feature is located right of the zoom toggle and shutter button.
Image quality should be pretty consistent with what has already been exhibited in the Fujifilm FinePix F60fd's predecessors. It is a performance- and features-based upgrade, so there probably won't be any improvements in terms of photo quality. That isn't a problem, since, like I said, Fujifilm already had that down pretty good with other models.
While the Fujifilm FinePix F60fd has improved somewhat in features and performance, there are really no spectacular, awe-inspiring differences. Sorry, to all of you who have been waiting for the scoop. It's basically a more automatic, consumer-friendly version. Everything else pretty much stayed the same.
The Fujifilm FinePix F60fd is worth its $300 price- it has a nice exterior and speed and performance components on the interior. Therefore, it's still holding its own on the point-and-shoot camera spectrum. The Fujifilm FinePix F60fd is pocket-sized, but it goes well beyond the basics. Check it out if you're looking for a new camera. It may not be loaded with new features, but the ones it has are a photographer's best friends.
