Fujifilm FinePix JX310 Digital Camera

Advanced Features in an Easy-to-use Compact Camera

The Fujifilm FinePix JX310 digital camera gives you high-end functionality at a reasonable price. To start, the camera has a FUJINON glass lens, the same lens used to film the original Star Wars trilogy, Avatar 3D, NFL Films, and the moon landings! When you use this camera you can be confident that you'll get great images because some of the landmark images of the last generation have been captured using this lens. It is a 5x wide angle optical zoom lens which is the equivalent to a 28m-140mm lens in a DSLR camera. The camera is capable of 3200 ISO which means it is great in low light situations. If you need even more light sensitivity you can turn on Night Mode. Another perk of the lens is that it will zoom even in movie mode, a feature that is not found in many cameras at this price point. As for video, it is capable of capturing 720p video with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

An interesting feature of the FinePix JX310 is that it gives you the capability to tag stills and movies for uploading to Facebook and YouTube. Tag photos as you take them or afterwards before they're uploaded to your computer and you can avoid some of the hassle of sifting through all of them after they're uploaded to Facebook. Motion Panorama lets you press the shutter once and start sweeping the camera. It automatically takes all the shots necessary to create a perfect panorama image. Once it is done, you can look at the photo or watch it as a video sweeping over the scene you just captured.

Smile and Blink detection automatically takes pictures when a smile is detected. This is nice so you aren't sitting waiting for the perfect moment, only to be upset when you realize everyone was frowning and you have to try again. Blink detection is similar, but instead of waiting for the perfect moment, it fires a warning on the LCD screen when someone is blinking. That way you know not to take the picture and can wait for a better moment. These are simple features which make capturing the right photo easier and eliminates the need to take a bunch of pictures hoping that one of them comes out right.

Natural Light and Flash is probably my favorite feature of this camera. With this feature you take 2 shots every time the shutter is pressed. One shot is taken with flash, the second is taken without it. You let the camera take both pictures, then you determine which one comes out best. This is great for the times when you're in an awkward lighting situation and aren't sure if flash will work best or not. Let the camera take both and figure it out afterwards. That way you don't miss the moment, and people don't have to hold a pose while you fidget with the camera to take the flash off.

SRAuto Scene Recognition is a feature that most cameras are going to have these days. The JX310 is going to have 6 different scenes which it can pick from in order to create the best image. You can manually select these scenes as well, but SRAuto Scene Recognition will do that choosing for you. Another basic feature is Automatic Red Eye Removal which does exactly what it says it does. If you want to take as much control as possible the FinePix JX310 offers advanced settings which let you control exposure compensation, white balance, color, chrome, and black & white modes.
