Fujifilm Quick-Snap Waterproof Camera: Great for Underwater Adventures
Reviewing the 35mm, Single-Use Camera
I went on a cruise that stopped at Grand Turk in Turks and Caicos Islands this past May, and I am so thankful that I had this trusty underwater camera with me. I went on a stingray snorkeling excursion, where we were able to actually swim with the stingrays and snorkel in the reef. It is absolutely gorgeous there, and no ordinary digital or disposable camera would be able to capture this. For about $8-10, the Fujifilm Quick Snap Waterproof 35mm Single Use Camera can perform all the normal actions of a disposable camera; however this camera is able to be completely submersed in water. The camera can take 27 pictures and is completely waterproof up to 17 feet deep.
One thing I loved about the Fujifilm Quick Snap Waterproof 35mm Single Use Camera is the fact that it came with a wrist strap, so it was easy to put it on my wrist while I went snorkeling, and I didn't have to worry about losing it. Even if it slid off my wrist, it would have floated in the water. The camera itself weighs only about a pound, but it is completely enclosed in a plastic case, making it floatable.
You don't have to use the Fujifilm Quick Snap Waterproof 35mm Single Use Camera in just underwater conditions. You can use it anywhere a normal camera would go, and it's also great for taking pictures in the rain and snow. It can also be used near water, or anywhere else you don't want to risk taking your expensive digital camera. If it drops in the pool or ocean, you don't have to worry about it being ruined.
2 things I didn't like about the Fujifilm Quick Snap Waterproof 35mm Single Use Camera were that it doesn't include a flash and the viewfinder is difficult to look through while you're wearing a snorkeling mask. You won't be able to take any pictures in darker water or in a dark room. Although most times, when you're snorkeling in the ocean, it will be bright out and you wouldn't need a flash anyway. While you're looking through the camera with a mask on, it can be difficult to see what you're photographing. This is a challenge that you just need to bypass and hope for the best.
Once you've used all of the exposures, the camera can be taken to any photo center for developing, such as Wal-Mart or Walgreens. It can be developed just like any other disposable camera. I think the price paid for the camera, and the price paid for developing is well worth it. Overall, I think using the Fujifilm Quick Snap Waterproof 35mm Single Use Camera is a great way to capture all of your beach, snorkeling and scuba diving adventures. I would recommend this camera to anybody in need of a good underwater/waterproof camera.
