Full but Not Quite Fulfilled

I'm busy day dreaming

And planning and figuring

And reconfiguring

The news plays out in the background

Tragedies, casualties, murders, accidental deaths

Natural disasters, and financial ruins

I see it and hear it, but I am not an active participant

I go to work and take care of my house and my business

And especially my daughter

But in my mind, front and center

Day in and day out, night after night

I'm thinking of you

Hoping that one day my dreams for us will come to fruition

That one day decisions will be made in my favor

And that you will one day be here with me

And that we will finally be joined together
