Fulton Ferry's "Bargemusic" fans might enjoy a few things its President, Mark Peskanov, had to say about Bargemusic in a Blogcritics article.

Olga Bloom, founder of Bargemusic and violinist, managed the operation in the early eighties. At that time, Peskanov was a performer. She was dedicated and particular.

In the mid-nineties, Bloom was in her nineties. So, she began to involve Peskanov in the concerts' programs and presentations.

In 2006, Peskanov became President and he basically does all of the artistic decision-making, now.

For those who are not familiar with Bargemusic, it is a floating concert hall. Performances are offered five days a week 52 weeks a year: Wednesday to Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 3 pm.

Bargemusic offers a free concert once a month. Otherwise, tickets range from $25 to $40 per person with discounts for seniors and students.

You can catch the Barge at Fulton Ferry Landing to enjoy a unique and intimate music experience. And, of course, you can't beat the views.

From the skyscrapers of NYC, I face strength. From the people of NYC, I gain understanding. And from the heart of NYC, I feel inspiration. So, I tend to write about the city quite a bit.  View profile
