Fun Activities to Do with Children: Toddlers
Toddlers are curious about everything. The world around them offers exciting exploration and learning experiences. Use this curiosity to your advantage.
1. One great activity to enjoy with toddlers is the park. The playground, walking trails, and other children will all be enjoyable for your toddler. Teach her the names of all the playground equipment and everything nature has to offer at the park. Every activity with a toddler is a way to expand their learning.
2. Educational games and toys are other fun activities to do with toddlers. Building blocks and puzzles are some examples you may want to choose in this category. These not only help with mental capabilities, but also dexterity. Your child will enjoy the time you spend helping her build block towers and put puzzles together. Get visually exciting puzzles to further the enjoyment.
3. Reading to your toddler at bedtime is a fun way to help her relax for sleep. Use books with lots of pictures and colorful characters.
Fun Activities to Do with Children: Between Toddler and Teens
1. Reading is a fun activity to share with your child during these years because she is learning to read and expand her own knowledge. This is the perfect opportunity to teach valuable lessons and morals through books. Make sure and pick books that go along with the child's reading level to make the time together more enjoyable. Acting out characters in the books will make this activity even more fun.
2. Watching movies together is another fun activity during these years. Let your child pick the movies and make sure you give them your full attention. Talking about movies afterwards offers ways to teach children about life and the difference between reality and fantasy. Movies also allow children to make full use of their imagination.
3. Taking pictures together is a fun activity to do with children these ages. There are cameras suitable for very young children that you can start with. As she grows, get your child more grown up cameras. She will love taking pictures and capturing images to remind her of fun things you've done together. She can also frame the pictures and make gifts out of them. Photography is a great skill for children to learn that is lots of fun.
Fun Activities to Do with Children: Teens
The teen years often pose a harder problem parents. This doesn't have to be the case however. There are some fun activities that your teens are sure to enjoy doing with you.
1. Go to the movies. There are many movies geared toward teens that adults will find entertaining also. Listen to your teen when she talks about a movie and offer to go see it with her. This is a great way to bond for an evening.
2. Going shopping is a fun activity to share with teenage girls. Add a trip to the spa or manicurist and you will definitely have a good time.
3. Play sports that your son enjoys. Going to the park to hit a few balls, bowling on a league, or playing a round of golf are all great fun activities to share with teenage boys.
These are just a few examples of fun activities you can share with your children. Think about your child, listen when they talk about things they enjoy, and use your imagination. You are sure to come up with some very nice activities for the whole family to share that will strengthen the bond between you and your children.
