Convict and the Warden
For him, the Convict will wear a white short sleeve t-shirt with black prison strips across the entire shirt. He will also need an old pair of denim blue jeans and a pair of black loafers or tennis shoes. Some dark brown face powder for a five O' shadow. Starting with the t-shirt we will need a bottle of black fabric paint available at your local craft store. With a black sharpie draw about ten strait lines across the t-shit all the way down. Then paint 1" inch stripes over each line to achieve the pinstripe look. Allow about tem minutes for the shirt to dry before wearing. Purchase a make-up sponge and dark brown face powder available at many stores that sell cosmetics. Now with your makeup sponge begin to lightly stipple the dark brown makeup around your jaw line. Begin by dabbing the sponge into the makeup pot and then dab the makeup on the side of your hand to remove any extra makeup. Apply the makeup to your face evenly to get the desired look of a day shadowed beard. His look is completed. You may also purchase some rubber props like shackles or hand cuffs at your Halloween supply store for $4.99. His costume cost $5 for pants, a t-shirt at your local thrift store cost $5.00, $12.65 for makeup and a sponge. Total Cost $27.00.
For her, the Warden is very simple and cheap to create. Go to your local Army surplus store and purchase a khaki jumpsuit and a black belt. You can wear any type of shoes so be creative with what you have. To complete her look I suggest purchasing a rubber baton for $4.99. Her costume only cost $14.99.
The Nerd and Computer
For him, the nerd needs a pair of plaid pants in any color; I found a really cheap pair at a garage sale for only $2.00. One white button up collard shirt (purchased at the Salvation Army for $5.00) also a bowtie any color for about $1.00. Some final touches with props complete the look. I like to wear a pair of old sunglasses with the lenses popped out and some masking tape wrapped around the center frame. I also purchase a pocket protector and placed some pins and pencils in the front pocket of my button up shirt. Total cost for this look is about $10.00.
For her, the computer is a little more creative so you need a couple of items from the craft store. First you need to find a square box that is wide enough to fit over your body. You will cut a round circle in the top so you can slide your head in. The bottom of the box need to be cut out so the rest of your body. Now you will need a can of white or beige spray paint to paint the outside of the box the color of a computer monitor. Now when the paint dries you will need a bottle of black acrylic paint and a brush from the craft store. Draw a large square in the front center of the box and paint the inside of the square black. This will give a look of a computer monitor. Next you will need to purchase some black dance tights from your local Halloween shop or Sports store. I recommend wearing a pair of black shoes with this costume. To complete this look the only prop you need is a Keyboard from your desktop computer and you're finished. Total cost for this is $24.00.
Grease Lighting
For him, the Danny look is quite easy to create. What we will need is a pair of denim blue jeans, a white men's t-shirt and a black leather jacket. You can search for a vintage leather jacket at your local thrift store, I found one for $16 bucks and it fit well enough for its purpose. Everything else, most of us guys surely have so no extra costs were needed. You might want to purchase a pair of Converse high top in black if your budgets allows, but this is not required to achieve this look. Now for your hair style you will need to comb your hair slicked back and pull a few bangs in front of your face. This costume is competed for under $20.00.
For her, Sandy Dee the girl tired of being good. Starting off with a blonde shoulder length wig $22, a pair of black tight stretchy pants $10, and a red pair of open toe heels $5.00. You will need to find a black tube top or a tank top $5.00. Your make-up should consist of bright red lipstick and black eye shadow and liner. The cost of this competed costume is $42.00.
The Cheapskates
For him, one black t-shirt, some white fabric paint with letter stencils and a sponge. Run down to your local craft store and pick up these items. Begin by painting across the front of the t-shirt with you letter stencils. Paint the words "Cheap Ass Halloween" in white. Your costume is completed for under $10.00.
