Fun Date Idea #1
Do something creative. Make an art project together. Go to a hobby store and buy 2 small prestretched canvases which are only a few dollars each. Also get several bottles of acrylic craft paint and a small brush. This paint cleans up easily with water and comes in tons of colors. Work together to create coordinating paintings, or surprise each other and don't show your painting until it is done. If you are not an artistic type, try something abstract like shapes, letters, numbers, stripes, circles or even trace something like a cookie cutter with a pencil and then paint. Try painting one giant flower in a bright color. When you are finished, you will have had lots of laughs and when they are hanging on the wall you will always remember your fun date night together.
Fun Date Idea #2
Each of you gets $5.00 cash and head to the Dollar Store. Split up and pick out 4 or 5 surprises for your partner. These can be fun gag gifts or more serious items. Try to choose things that you can also do as an activity. For example, pick a kite and then go fly it together. Or a toy rocket and go to a park and launch it. Buy nail polish in a bright glitter color and let your husband paint your toenails.
Fun Date Idea #3
Dress up in fancy clothes, go to a public place like a city park fountain or elegant building or hotel lobby and take pictures of each other. Better yet, ask someone to take your picture together. Wear a long formal dress with lots of jewelry and makeup. Have fun telling people it is just your date night. Then go to a fast food or ice cream place and have a treat. This is only fun if you really like drawing attention, but it will make you feel special and romantic to be dressed up.
Fun Date Idea #4
If you love animals, visit the zoo. Take pictures of the animals and pretend you are on a safari, try not to let any cages or bars show in the shots. Feed the animals if it is allowed.
Fun Date Idea #5
Go to a high school sporting event, preferably a football game at an outdoor stadium. Bring a little blanket to sit on and cuddle up under while you watch the game. Buy lots of popcorn, nachos and sodas and cheer for your home team until you're hoarse. Walk around under the bleachers and steal a kiss. If it's not football season, try a basketball or hockey game. Try a local college to see if they have any sporting events going on.
