When spending the day in Long Island, the last thing you'll be is bored! The myriad sights, sounds and activities allow for any preference. The one thing you will want to do is plan ahead to make the most of your time. If you wait until you've arrived at Long Island, you could easily spend half of the day deciding what to do!
If shopping is your thing, then the offerings on Long Island certainly won't disappoint. Check out the North Shore, with forty-nine specialty shops and St. James General Store, built in 1857. There are also seven malls located on the North Shore, and four on the South Shore. And none of these include their more unique shops, like the Sunflower Fine Art Shop.
For fun with the whole gang, check out their family amusement parks and zoos, situated all over the island. Their zoos and aquariums are also amazing and include the Atlantis Marine World and the Animal Farm Petting Zoo.
Water recreation and water sports are also hugely popular on Long Island. Visitors can boat, canoe, kayak, fish, scuba dive, swim or just relax on the beach. And if you enjoy visiting wineries, then there is plenty to enjoy there, as well.
There is no place better than Long Island to visit for the best atmosphere and the widest variety of activities to enjoy. If you can imagine it, then you can probably do it - at New York's famous Long Island!
