For the summer party invitations for this theme, there is a perfect way to make DIY party invitations. Buy some real flowers in some summer colors. Get some wax paper and some old crayons. Take the flower heads carefully off the stems and place in some cold water until you are ready for them.
Now take the crayons and scrap a few different colors that match with your flowers into some cups. Get an iron and set it on medium dry heat. Take your flower heads and place into the center of some wax paper cut into a card shape.
Then take some of the crayon shavings and sprinkle them over the flower heads. Take another card shaped piece of wax paper and place it over the flowers and crayons carefully. Very carefully take the iron and staring from the center of your arrangement press down as you would when you iron a handkerchief. Make sure that you press evenly so that the crayons melt but do not meld into one big blob.
Check every few presses to see if you like the effect, once you have it the way you like let cool completely. Then you can cut and glue the wax and flower section to a piece of card stock and write your invitation. This is one of the most fun DIY party invitations to make and this can be done at any time of year for any occasion, it is not strictly for summer party invitations.
Hawaiian Luau DIY Party Invitations
Of all the summer party ideas, the Hawaiian Luau is the most popular of all. Get some grass skirts and Tiki torches along with some Hawaiian music and even a limbo pole! For snacks, try making some chicken or meat on sticks that can be barbecued along with pineapple and other veggies. Yummy and healthy! Be sure not to forget the lei! To make DIY party invitations for this party theme, go to the local dollar store and buy some colorful small flip flops. Write the invitation on them and then take them to each person you are inviting. This is one of the most inexpensive and fun summer party invitations you can make.
