The Autumn season and upcoming Halloween events bring out the craft-making in alot of us. There are some fun and easy things you can make either by yourself, or with your children, that will help enhance your holiday spirit!

Pumpkin Playdough

Ingredients:
5 1/2 cups of flour, 2 cups of salt, 8 teaspoons of cream of tarter, 3/4 cup vegetable oil, 1.12 ounces of pumpkin pie spice(usually a small container), 4 cups of water, and orange food coloring. If mixing red and yellow, use 2 parts yellow to one part red.

Simply mix all of the ingredients together. Then cook it over medium heat, stirring continuously, until all lumps disappear from the mixture. Knead on a floured surface until dough becomes smooth. Then play! An excellent idea for those with young children. Just make sure to store play dough in an airtight container or big zip lock bag.

Mason Jar Pumpkin

Materials:
Mason Jar and lid(any size will do), black paint, green tissue paper and green ribbon, any kind of candy that comes in an orange wrapper, glue.

Fill up the jar with the orange candies. Use the black paint to make jack-o-lantern faces on the jar, or use black felt to cut out faces and glue them on. Cut a piece of the green tissue paper so that it can wrap around the top of the lid with a couple of inches to spare, and wrap the jar lid up completely. Tie off with the green ribbon. Voila! Cute pumpkin jars with edible insides!

You have a pumpkin. A fun and inexpensive craft for kids to make.

Use the back of the paper plate for your pumpkin. Paint it orange with finger paints, Use black construction paper to cut out eyes, mouth, ears, teeth, nose and hair for jack-o-lantern faces.
