Leaves of Thankfulness
This is a great project for school, church, or at home. Everyone can get into the true spirit of Thanksgiving and talk about what they are thankful for while doing this.
What you'll need:
Gold leaf frame
card stock in fall colors
scissors
glue
pencil
thin black marker
leaves
Carefully punch out the middle of the leaves. Trace the open sections of the leaves onto the card stock. Leave about a 1/4" border all around so you can glue the sections in place. In the middle, write what you are thankful for. Out of construction paper, make a giant tree, and glue the finished leaves all around. Make sure everyone writes their name on their leaf! Hang up so everyone can see.
Turkey Paddle Ball
Enjoy an old-time game with a new-time look!
What you will need:
Paddle Ball
Glue
Feathers
paints with paintbrush
Paint the paddle brown to make a turkey. Glue the feathers on the back so they stick out the sides, and glue one directly on top of the handle so it sticks out. Paint on a turkey face on the handle part of the paddle. Voila! You now have a turkey game!
Fall Leaf Turkey
What you will need:
fall leaves
pine cone
wiggly eyes
paper
glue
scissors
Collect all different kinds of fall leaves and press flat either overnight or for a day or two. When ready, glue the leaves to the piece of paper in a shape of a fan for the turkeys body. Using a good bit of glue, attach the pine cone to the bottom of the fan. Glue on the wiggly eyes. From paper or felt, cut out a red wobbler and an orange beak and then glue them securely on the pine cone. Let dry completely, and then hang up!
Turkey Treat Jar
What you will need:
multi-colored felt
wiggly eyes
glue gun
Jar
Tag board
Cut two turkey patterns out of the brown felt. Cut out appropriate features out of different colors-feathers, feathers, orange or yellow beak, red wobbler. Trace the turkey body onto the tag board and then cut out, glue the two turkey patterns to the front and back of the tag board. Glue on the features to the body, and glue on the wiggly eyes. Glue the whole thing to the front of the jar, and glue the feathers to the back so they stick straight up. You can now fill this with treats and candy!
