Chris Evans is the star of the summer blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger. The film received mixed reviews, but most everyone can agree that Chris Evans is a rising star. The following are some fun facts about the actor:
Brief background: The Captain America character Steve Rogers is from Brooklyn, but Chris Evans calls Boston his home. He started acting as a child at the youth theater that his mom runs. After getting some commercial work and finishing high school, he decided to move to pursue a career in acting. His first movie role was a part in the 2000 family film The Newcomers. His first starring role came soon after as "Jake" in Not Another Teen Movie.
Fun fact: Like many young stars, Chris Evans likes to drink. In an interview with GQ, he admitted that drinking a liter-sized stein of Sam Adams makes him feel like a Viking.
On the movie Captain America: Chris Evans was hesitant to accept the role of Steve Rogers because he feared the fame and commitment it might bring. But it was that same fear that led him to accept it, saying "When I realized this was an obstacle I needed to tackle, I did a 180 and wanted to do it."
Fun fact: His favorite genre of music is classic rock.
His favorite movie: Chris Evans played "Lucas Lee" in the movie "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World".
