Fun Facts on Golfer Rickie Fowler

Since when did young girls start watching golf? That would be since the cute 22 year-old Rickie Fowler came on to the putting green. He's got some attention due to his youthful appearance thanks to things like his shaggy hair, skater caps, and belt buckles. But his style isn't the only thing that sets him apart; as 2010 Rookie of the Year, Rickie Fowler actually is a talented golfer as well.

Background info: He raced motocross as a kid. But his dirt bike days ended after he broke his foot and blew out his knee bailing off a bike. So at 14 years-old, he gave up racing bikes to devote himself to playing golf. It was a decision that paid off because he landed a full ride thanks to his golfing skills to Oklahoma State University.

Fun fact: His dad, Rod, says that his son chose to go to Oklahoma State over the school he first chose (UCLA) because he was being out-shined by his golfing buddy Philip Francis who also chose to go to UCLA.

Likes besides golf: Besides golfing, you might be wondering how does Rickie Fowler like to spend his time? Well, even though he lives in Las Vegas, he says he isn't into the party scene and doesn't drink. When he does go out, he mostly just sips Red Bull. But mostly, he seems more of a homebody preferring to just get dinner and go home to watch a movie.

Fun fact: According to his official website, he is the only player ever to win NCAA's Player of the Year as a freshman.
