Background Facts

The actress was born in 1986, and is from Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Although, she says she grew up in "the woods", but that's probably just because that's better to say than "Bryn Mawr". Her real name is Katherine Litwack. Don't ever call her Kathy though.

Her mom is a poet and her dad is a molecular pharmacologist.

TV & Film Career Facts

2 Broke Girls isn't Kat Dennings' first television role. Some of her other TV roles include the character Zoe Butler on the TV drama ER; Sarah Stewart on the Bob Saget TV show "Raising Dad"; and her television debut on the show Sex in the City as the character Jenny Brier.

Her first feature film role was as Sloane in Raise Your Voice.

Other notable film roles: Darcy in Marvel's "Thor"; Stacey in the kids movie "Shorts"; Norah in "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist"; Mona in "The House Bunny"; Susan in "Charlie Bartlett"; and Marla in "That 40 Year Old Virgin".

She almost didn't get her role as Darcy in Thor because the filmmakers didn't think she was nerdy enough. The actress got the part after sending a photo of herself knitting.
