Fun Facts About Rapper Pitbull

Ever Odessa
Pitbull released his sixth album this summer. The album, Planet Pit, features his latest hit single "Give Me Everything" but certainly has potential for many more hits. Planet Pit is the artist's best work to date. Here is a look at the man behind the music:

Background: Pitbull's real name is Armando Christian Perez. He is Cuban-American who was born in Miami, Florida. (The "305" that he sings about is the area code for Miami). His parents separated when he was two years old so he was mostly raised by his mom. Although, he did spend part of his childhood living with a foster family. He played basketball in high school and was considered a "chick magnet". As a teen, he started following in his dad's footsteps and was dealing dope until a girlfriend offered to support him financially. Her support allowed him to just concentrate on making it as a rapper.

Pitbull on women: The rapper has three baby mamas, believes in open relationships, and likes women who are powerful. So ladies, if you want to try to catch his eye, try dressing in a business suit.

Pitbull on himself: As fans have probably noticed, the rapper considers himself "very sexual and passionate". And he says that his dad, Armando Sr., is where he gets his charm from.

The nickname: If you've ever wondered why the rapper decided to call himself Pitbull, he told The Washington Post that it was because "they bite to lock. The dog is too stupid to lose. And they're outlawed in Dade County. They're basically everything that I am. It's been a constant fight."

Pitbull on rap: "I ain't no thug, I ain't no gangsta. I'm a hustler. . . Music is my hustle. It's my crack, my cocaine, what I need you to get hooked on."
