Fun Fan Football Trip to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida

Go Buccaneers!

The best time of the year has finally arrived; football season. I am pumped and ready to set loose my plan for my annual pilgrimage to Tampa, Florida to watch my Buccaneers take on the New York Giants on the 27th of September. It is going to be one fun football weekend in the city of my childhood.

When planning your fan football trip you first need to get your tickets and plan on how to get there. There are several hotels that are near the Raymond James Stadium or "The Ray Jay" such, Holiday Inn, Days Inn, Comfort Suits and Hilton to name a few. For those on a budget like myself and really want to travel to a football game, I recommend using priceline.com to plan your trip package. It is the best travel website and I always get a good deal on air fare, hotel accommodations and rental cars. I was able to find a really great package for two people for only $504 at a four star hotel.

Priceline also allows you to add on extra attractions that you can go to such as Busch Gardens, Captain Memo's Pirate Cruise and the Florida Aquarium. I have been to all three of these attractions and they are well worth the price of admissions and are fun for both adults and children.

Tickets to Tampa Bay Buccaneer football games can be purchased through Ticketmaster or at the game itself but buying in advance prevents being shut out due to a sell out. The ticket prices range from $79 to $115 which is reasonably priced considering behind the plate at Yankee stadium this year has reached $2600. From the Tampa Bay Buccaneers website under the option of general ticket information you can wave your mouse over your seating area and even get a glimpse at what the view will be like.

As for the stadium itself, Raymond James Stadium is simply on of the best around. It was opened in 1998 and its grass field as won the award for the best field in football six times. RJS was also the site of the Super bowl in 2001 and 2009. One of my favorite features of the Raymond James Stadium is the Buccaneer Cove which is a pirate ship extravaganza. There are stadium concessions, various kiosks and games. There are also eight cannons that go off whenever the Buccaneers score a touchdown which adds to the amazing atmosphere.
