We all know that this is a tough time for our economy with no relief in sight, but we do not have to stress about it during the holiday season. With a few budget friendly tips and some inexpensive holiday gift ideas for those on a budget you can make this Christmas better than ever.

1. For a girl child of almost any age the hula hoop is an inexpensive and entertaining gift that is sure to be enjoyed for hours at a time. This is a fun holiday gift for any family on a budget. Every little girl has had a hula hoop at one time or another so make this Christmas time more memorable with giving your little girl a timeless gift. Just make sure they don't hula hoop too close to the Christmas tree.

2. Candles are a gift that is inexpensive especially when you are on a budget and there are very few women who would not like to get them at Christmas time. Give an elegant gift bag containing a mixture of candles in different shapes and sizes in complimenting colors. Red and green are popular but try to think out of the box a little and think of a few colors that can be enjoyed out of season as well. Candles are romantic and the perfect gift for a lover or spouse any time of the year when you want to rekindle a bit of passion.

3. Crossword puzzle and Sudoku puzzle books are available in many different price ranges and offer many entertaining games for people of all ages to enjoy. Your local family dollar store will always give you the most for your money. Most grown ups and young adults enjoy the many challenging puzzles that can be quite challenging at times.

4. Anything homemade is inexpensive and a great way to show your loved ones that are thinking about them during the holiday season. When you are looking for inexpensive holiday gifts and you are on a budget, why not try to out as much thought into each gift as possible. Homemade items can include photo albums, holiday ornaments, cookies and treats, clothing, or even a nice and cozy throw blanket for wrapping up in the winter time.

5. Pre paid credit cards come in a wide variety of denominations so you are not forced to spend more than your budget can afford. By allowing a specific cash amount for each person on your Christmas list you can plan and begin saving months ahead of time. Pre paid credit cards can be used almost anywhere like cash but it also has the bonus of being able to be used to make purchases online or by telephone.
