Zoo Boo at the Indianapolis Zoo, presented by AT&T Real Yellow Pages, is this weekend and next. The zoo will be open late with lots of special exhibits and great activities, like the Not-So-Scary Animals Show where we get to pet the animals afterwards. There's an Elephant Pumpkin Smash, a hay maze, bounce house, pumpkin bowling and the Halloween Train Ride. Check out all the other details at their website.

The Headless Horseman at Conner Prairie
This activity continues to be one of the Indianapolis's most popular fun Halloween activities. On a dark and scary haunted hayride through the fields and roads of Conner Prairie Living History Museum, guests wait breathlessly for the Headless Horseman to "attack" the wagon. It's spooky fun with an edge of ghostly! After your hayride, there are ghost stories, campfires, live music, barn dancing the Virginia Reel, and of course Apple Cider and S'Mores. Pick a nice clear cold night, dress warm and go be part of an old fashioned tradition.

Indiana Medical History Museum
Older children, upper elementary and even high school age, might really enjoy a Harry Potter Halloween event at the Indiana Medical History Museum. There'll be some science learning occur at the 5th Annual Wizard's Academy where kids will explore physics, chemistry and electricity with a magical Halloween twist to it! We'll even get to "see" some of the Magical animals in the Harry Potter books. Check out the detail at their website for this one day event on October 25th
Crown Hill Cemetery
Ghosts and cemeteries are a Halloween tradition and Crown Hill has planned some historical tours for this Halloween including Tombstone and Trees, where 100 species of trees growing on the 555 acre cemetery are discussed. You can use one of the diagrammed maps provided to treasure hunt for all the varieties. Hurry before all the leaves fall off. Even if you're not big into Halloween this is a cool activity to try!

Ghost tour of Indianapolis
These walking tours offer the tourist or the local an opportunity to see and hear about some of Indianapolis more well known ghost. Stonycreek Farm Fall Halloween Festival in Noblesville
Many local farms have pumpkin harvest days including one our family has attended since our children were little tots. At Stonycreek Farms, 50 acres of rolling farmland are packed with pumpkins, the original old Farm House, barns, black smith shop and buggy barn, all decked out with games,activities and fun farm things to do. There's a Halloween haunted house, hayride, and of course the huge pumpkin patch where you can pick the perfect pumpkin. Mom can buy mums and fall plants in Stony Creek's nursery or visit the gift shop to find some early Christmas presents. Everyone can have lunch in the Country Market.
