Fun Halloween Ghost Themed Crafts

To make a simple ghost decoration that actually flies, all you need is a white balloon, 2 white plastic grocery bags, scissors, tape and a black marker. First, cut off the handles of the plastic bags and if there is any writing, cut it out. Starting from the open end, cut the bag into strips toward the seam of the bag, leaving an inch or so to keep the seam intact. Next, blow up the white balloon. If you plan on hanging the ghost, point the tied end up and tape the plastic bags around the balloon. Tie and string to the tied part of the balloon and with the black marker draw two big eyes and a mouth. When the wind catches this ghost it will look like he's really flying.

Glue ghosts are a very easy craft that can be used as fun Halloween window decorations too! All you need is white craft glue, waxed paper, optional wiggly eyes, pom-poms buttons, etc., and a lot of patience. First, lay out a piece of waxed paper on a flat surface and squeeze the glue out into the shape of a ghost. You can use your finger to spread the glue if you need to. While the glue is still wet, add your wiggly eyes and buttons if you want. When you are finished decorating, set the paper aside and let dry for several hours, maybe even overnight. As the glue dries they will look clearer and blend in with the paper. Carefully peel them off and they will be able to stick to different types of surfaces.

Tissue ghosts are another easy way your child can help decorate for Halloween. You will need white tissues, string or ribbon, scissors, and a black marker. First, wad up a tissue and place it in the center of a laid out tissue. Pull up all the corners and tie the ribbon tight around the bottom of the ball shape. When you hold it up it should look like a ghost. For a bigger ghost, wad up more tissue. Use the black marker to draw eyes and a mouth. To hang your ghost, use clear fishing line and tie it around the base of the head with the ribbon to make it look like it's floating.

Make a simple ghost pin that everyone can enjoy wearing. You will need a white craft foam sheet, wiggly eyes, pin backs, hot glue, scissors, and a black marker. First, cut out ghost shapes from the white foam. Glue on the wiggly eyes and use the black marker to draw the mouth (and eyes if you don't have wiggly ones). Then glue on the pin backs to the back of the ghost and let dry. Now they're ready to be worn!
