Fun Halloween Vampire Themed Crafts

Garbage Bag Vampire - You will need a large black trash bag, a white paper plate, scissors, tape, and some markers. First you will need to make the head and face using the paper plate. With the markers, draw black hair at the top and a red mouth with fangs. You can even use wiggly eyes! Next, cut the trash bag in half lengthwise and cut out a few triangles from the bottom. Only one half of the bag will be needed for this project. Tape the top two ends of the bag together then fold the two sides back and tape them down as well. The bag should form an almost triangular shape that looks like an open cape. Attach the face to the top of the bag with glue and add tape to the back of the bag to keep the head in place. Take two of the cut out triangle pieces and tape them to the back of the bag to make the collar. There you have a simple vampire craft to display in your yard or window on Halloween.

Vampire Blood - What is a scary vampire without the bloody fangs? To make realistic looking fake blood all you need is corn syrup, water, liquid soap, and red food coloring. In a bowl, mix 1 cup of corn syrup with a little water. Don't start off with too much water; you can slowly add it to the mixture to get a desired, thick, consistency. Next add just a couple drops of liquid soap. This helps to mixture to wipe off easier. Now you can add the red food coloring and then put the bowl in the refrigerator. Once it all hardens a little it is ready to be used on the face or body to turn an otherwise ordinary vampire into a scary one!

Bloody Vampire Cookies - This spooky treat is yummy too! Use any sugar cookie or butter cookie recipe to make white or pale cream colored cookies. First, roll out the dough and use a cookie cutter to make same size circles. On half of the dough circles, drop a small amount of jam in the middle. You can use any raspberry, strawberry or cherry filling as long as it is red and does not have large chunks of fruit in it. Sandwich the jam using another dough circle placed on top and press the edges to seal in the filling. Using a toothpick, make two small holes on the top to look like vampire bite marks before sliding them into the oven. When done, use a toothpick to draw out a little filling to make the bite marks look like they're bleeding. Cookies taste best when eaten the day they are made.
