Fun Holiday Christmas Gift Wrapping Stores - 5 of the Best to Be Found in Miami

A Festively Wrapped Gift is a Delight to Receive

One of my favorite holiday card and gift wrap shops is a store called Papyrus, located in the Falls shopping center in Southwest Dade County, but locations can be found in other areas of South Florida too, such as Aventura Mall in North Miami Beach. Many of their gift wraps and cards can be found in major department stores like Macys and Bloomingdales. They are also featured in the book store Borders, as well.

This innovative paper company was started by two very talented artists in their own right, Margrit and Marcel Schurman. It is Schurman's designs that bring me to the store again and again.

Even though I often make my own Christmas cards, I can't make my own gift wrap so that's when I just want something a bit different and clever. Schurmans paper designs are just that. The selections are so varied from sublime humor, which always brings a smile to my face, to his stunning artwork which also is quite inspirational in the designs as well. The colors are always so striking and the paper holds up well when wrapping a gift. But Papyrus not only features Schurmans work. There is a vast array of wrapping paper from nearly every designer of fine quality paper and for every kind of occasion you could possibly be looking for.

They also have a unique collection of Gift Bags, Stationary gift items, Photo albums and Scrapbook matereials. All in patterns that are not what you would find in normal paper stores. Papyrus stores are also located in other big cities around the United States but if one isn't available near you, their website has quite a large variety of paper goods you can have sent right to your door.

Papyrus means Paper and this store has it all.

Other places I have found some very beautiful and unique wrapping paper are at department stores in the Christmas shoppes. Bloomingdales and Macy's have the nicest I think, and even carry paper designed by Marcel Schurman. I like stars and cosmic designs quite a lot and I always find paper like that at those stores. They are usually a bit more costly unless you go during a half off sales, which they usually have a few weeks before Christmas. I think this year those sales will come earlier due to the economic climate right now. To pull in customers they are offering items for sale earlier then they usually do

For good prices and huge selections, you can't go wrong at Party City or Party Supermarket especially for paper geared toward children. Their prices are extreemly good for big rolls that will cover large toys. I like the fact they in their displays they have matching ribbons and gift tags nearby each paper roll

Fabric stores like JoAnna's has a good selection and a particularly great selection of ribbens, especially wired ribbens, my favorite, to create a special bow that stays in the shape you intended. I love wired ribbens for my gift wrapping. They are also offereing big discounts already.

Michaels crafts has all sorts of interesting items with which you can make your own gift ornaments to add to your bows on your packages.Again, being creative is the key. They also have unusual kinds of gift wrap and gift bags. Coupons on usually in the Sunday papers for non-sale items and some sale items

Wrapping paper can be found practically anywhere and if you look carefully there just might be the kind that expresses you and your taste. Sometimes simple is the best and I found a large display recently of plain colored paper in my supermarket. contrasting ribbons and gift tags always make a great presentation

Most important is the thought of wrapping a gift with a sense of flare and personality. I've been known to use the comics from the newspapers, just add a neat bow or ornament and Voila, a gift that says it's from a person who cares and took the time to create a gift that looks as good on the outside as in the inside.

Have a Merry and a Happy one
