Fun Ideas for Group Halloween Costumes for Teens

Teenagers Want to Have Fun on Halloween Too!

Sherri Thornhill
Halloween is one of those occasions that are fun for people of all ages, if you want it to be. Part of the fun of Halloween is dressing up in costumes. Most of us can remember our favorite Halloween costumes we wore as kids, but nowadays teenagers are looking for memorable costumes as well. If you're a teen and you are looking for ideas for group Halloween costumes for you and your friends, here are some costume ideas for you!

Young Teens Halloween Costume Ideas

The Twilight movies are still very popular and the New Moon movie reminded us all how much fun vampires and werewolves can be! If you are a fan of the wolves, why not go as Jacob and his wolf pack friends? You can go the hairy wolf route and follow around the vampires. Are you more into Edward and Bella? Well a group of 4 teens can go as Edward, Bella, Alice and Jasper for Halloween, and it won't cost much if you check out thrift shops to find some costume pieces. The wigs and jewelry from Twilight can be found for sale online, as well as a few pieces like Edwards jacket, but you can do it yourself for next to nothing, just raid your closet!

The Fantastic Four is also a fun group Halloween costume for young teens. You choose who gets to be "Thing", "Human Torch", "Mr. Fantastic" and the "Invisible Woman". The best costumes are hand made by the wearer, so if you can't find your character for a reasonable price, try making your costume!

Any Teenager Halloween Costume Idea

Why not represent the U.S. armed services this Halloween? You can look sharp and still have fun as a teen group wearing Halloween costumes to represent the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines! You can also dress up in the U.S.A. red, white and blue flag colors and even a bald eagle costume to complete the group Halloween costume. All across the country are military surplus stores that carry these uniforms; the only request is that you wear them with pride.

Another Halloween group costume idea is to dress up as football players and cheerleaders for your favorite high school, college or pro football team! You can add a referee or two with extra teens in your group.

Great Halloween Costumes for the Older Teenagers

The rock band is always a fun Halloween costume. You can pick your favorite band and replicate their look (I was once a Halloween member of KISS). If you want to add some edge, why not be a death rocker-as in a zombie rock group. Put on your best zombie makeup and torn up rock star clothes; bring drum sticks, a microphone, electric guitar or whatever instrument you want your zombie rocker to play.

One of the most popular movies and DVD is Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. You can find these costumes at a number of online places and likely in your local temporary Halloween store. The Mad Hatter, Alice, Red Queen of Hearts, The White Queen, Chesire Cat and the White Rabbit are excellent Halloween costumes for a group of teenagers.

I miss the children coming to the door here at my townhome -- mostly adults here and the few little ones around don't seem to come knocking! Churches and schools seem to have taken over the evening somewhat with special parties and some overnighters.

It's true, Halloween is here whether or not we are ready for it. I'm starting to see bags of candy in the stores now, too.

I looked ALL OVER for Twilight costumes when I was doing my group Halloween costume piece. I was surprised at how hard they were to find! I still think that Twilight is the best group idea even though it's not on my list. :D
