Fun Ideas on How to Wrap a Gift

Esper_D
Got a gift to wrap but don't have any wrapping paper around? What about if you are just trying to show your unique side and skip the traditional? It's likely you already have something in your home that can be used as wrapping or a gift box. Or if you like to go shopping, you can find some neat items at a second-hand shop to complete the gift with a customized touch.
Brown Paper Bag:

Brown paper bags can act as a fun "canvas" for your wrapping paper artwork. Depending on the size of your gift, you need to get either a small lunch bag or a large brown paper grocery bag. Cut along the crease that holds the paper together. Wrap your gift as you normally would, however it would look best if it is in a box already or put into a cardboard box before wrapping.

Take our your stamps set and stamp directly on the gift. Other creative ideas on how to use your stamps besides just stamping randomly is to stamp in a way that creates a line across the center of the sides, creating the look of a wrapped ribbon and bow. You can also use smaller stamps to create a message, such as to: you, from: me. When you are done, you can take some twine and wrap it around the gift.

Fabric and thread:

Sew together your very own bag for the gift. Find some material at the clearance bin at the local fabric store or Wal-mart. You don't need a sewing machine to thread, but it can come in handy. If not, just sew by hand along three of the sides, leaving the last side open. To close the "bag" you can add a flap with a button or Velcro to secure it. Or you can make it a drawstring bag by adding sewing a loop around the open rim with a ribbon inside and tie to secure.

Old tin or jewelry box:

Head over to a second-hand store and rummage around to find a fun box that would fit your present. You can often find a box tin or wooden jewelry box or anything with a lid that can serve as a better gift bag than, well, a gift bag! To pull off the traditional look of a present, add a tag, ribbons and a bow to the look.

Comic Strips:

A guide to creating your own gift wrapping paper would not be complete without the most common suggestion of using comic strips. This idea has become quite popular over the past decade, and for good reason. It's free, fun, and colorful. It is a very popular idea, however, isn't widely used. So you can still get away with a fun gift by utilizing this idea for your recipients.
