When families are planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort in Southern California, they often are so excited about the rides and attractions waiting for them in the two theme parks that not much thought is given to the Downtown Disney area of the resort. However, there are some fun places to visit in Downtown Disney. Certain places in Downtown Disney are more fun to visit with kids. If you are wondering which places in Downtown Disney are the best to visit with kids, you may find this guide helpful!

Go to the movies! Families visiting the Disneyland Resort for several days may find that they are still ready for some fun after leaving the parks for the day. Downtown Disney has an AMC movie theater showing current releases.

Get a kid's makeover! Girls can get a cool makeover at Club Libby Lu in Downtown Disney. Getting made over into a sparkle princess or a rocker chick might be just the right activity for the kids in your party. They can also pick out some cool dress up clothes to purchase and take home, or make their own bath and shower gels. Club Libby Lu also has room accessories. Kids who are celebrating their birthday while at the Disneyland Resort can even have their birthday party at Club Libby Lu!

Build something with Legos! The Lego Imagination Center in Downtown Disney has one of the best assortments of Lego sets available anywhere. Plus, there are tables of Legos where kids can play.

Build your own bear! There is a Build-A-Bear located in Downtown Disney, so for some fun with kids, head over to this fun shop to build your own bear. The Downtown Disney Build-A-Bear is one of the largest you'll find anywhere.

Play some games! Downtown Disney is also home to the ESPN Zone Sports Arena. Here, there are a ton of video arcade games, as well as a large rock climbing wall. The ESPN Zone is a fun break from the parks, particularly for families with older kids and teens.

Head for the Jungle! The Rainforest Café in Downtown Disney is a really fun place to take kids for a meal. The Rainforest Café not only has great food, but the ambiance is fun and kid friendly. The interior of the Rainforest Café has a rain forest theme, with waterfalls, live parrots, animated apes, and rain showers! The ambiance at the Rainforest Café is hard to beat, making this a really fun place to go with kids while in Downtown Disney.
