Fun Kids Summer Activities in Ohio

Summer is coming and parents start looking for summer activities for the kids. There are a number of fun
activities in the Greater Ohio area. From children's museums to summer day camps at the YMCA., there is
something to keep the little ones busy this summer. I did a search of children's summer activities and found
a bunch of interesting, fun things to do this summer. I just moved here to Youngstown, OH and I live with 3
kids so I am looking for some fun things to do with them this summer. So if you live here in Ohio, you may
want to check some of these places out:

For Youngstown,OH :

Mill Creek Metro Parks
Youngstown, Ohio
Wick Recreation Area (330)740-7114.

Mill Creek Park, located in Mahoning county, OH has over 4,000 acres of diverse lands. Recreation
activities include hiking, biking, boating, fishing, golf, tennis, volleyball, picnicking, cross country skiing,
sledding, and much more. There are walking trails and a beautiful waterfall area. They also have
paddle boats available for rent for $6.00. They also have many school programs available. Teachers can
call for information on what programs are available. Programs are free for Mahoning County Schools.

Mill Creek Park has two and three day adventure camps where kids can learn about plants and animals
through hikes, games and crafts. Registration is required. For information, please call Ford Nature Center at

The Wick Recreation Area opens at noon on Wednesday, March 25. Facilities opening are the batting
cages, Par 3 Golf Course, ballfields, playground, and volleyball courts. The tennis courts remain closed
due to construction. Their hours are 8am-until dark. Night games of golf, volleyball and batting cages open
from 8pm-11pm.

Turner Hill Farm Riding Day Camp

Riding day camp opens June 8th and ends August 28th. Camp hours are Monday-Friday from 2pm-6pm. For

children ages 8 and above. Children will learn hand-on basic of riding and what horses eat and how to feed

them, along with other training as well. Camp Fee is $150.00 per week. Call for reservations.

YMCA Summer Down South Day Camp

Summer Down South is a series of one week theme camps. Each session is 1 week long. Ages 6 yrs to 12
yrs. Cost is $76.00-$200 per week.

Activities include: Arts and Crafts, Basketball, Counselor Training (CIT), Field Trips, Hiking,
Nature/Environmental Studies, Team Field Sports, Recreational Swimming, Team Building.

Also available:Archery, Baseball/Softball, Boating, Camping Skills/Outdoor Living, Canoeing, Dance,
