Fun Outdoor Labor Day Games

Labor Day is almost upon us. One of the great ways to celebrate this holiday is to play some fun outdoor Labor Day games and activities. For many people Labor Day is one of the last times to enjoy the summer weather. It is important to spend the holiday outside with friends and family before the cooler weather comes. Here are some fun outdoor games for Labor Day:

Fountains

One of the most fun outdoor activities that I can think of for a child to do is play in the water. Many places offer free water fountains for children to play in. There is nothing more enjoyable than hearing the sounds of laugher and seeing the smiles of children who are playing in the water. Bring a picnic lunch, and make a day out of it. I am sure that this activity will bring many happy Labor Day memories for all who are involved.

Volleyball

One of the best fun games for Labor Day that I remember from my own childhood is playing volleyball. Volleyball is a great because both the young and old can usually play. Those people who choose not to play volleyball often enjoy watching the game from the sidelines and cheering the players on. It is a great bonding outdoor game.

Croquet

Playing croquet is great for a small group of people to play. It is a lawn game. People hit balls through hoops that are installed into the grass. They hit the ball with a mallet. It is one of the more relaxing outdoor games for Labor Day.

Kickball

This is usually a playground game. It is good for a small group or a big group to play. It is a game where a big rubber ball is rolled towards home plate. A person tries to kick it to the outfield while others try to catch it to make the person go out. The goal is for the person to run around all the bases without being tagged out. If they succeed they score a point for their team. This is another great Labor Day outdoor games for bonding.

Pool

For many people this is the last weekend that the pool will still be open before closing it down for the cooler weather. There are many fun pool games that can be played. One of them is the rings. Take a couple of plastic pool rings and throw them into the pool. Then have players race to pick up as many as they can. The one with the most pool rings wins. Another game is just to have several players race each other in swimming along a certain length of the pool. Whoever finishes first wins. Pool games are lots for fun outdoor Labor Day games.
