Peeps are fun to eat and play with. Peeps are so popular that they have their own fan club, videos dedicated to them and science experiments designed around them. This Easter before you dive in to eating the delicious marshmallowy goodness that is a Peep, here are few fun things to do with them.
#1- Join the Peep Fan Club!
Visit theOfficial Website of Marshmallow Peeps and join the fan club. This link will lead you to exciting news about new peeps coming on the market, a link to peep coloring pages and an archive filled with delicious Peep recipes!
#2- Make a Peep Diorama!
Since April of 2007, The Washington Post, has been running the Peep Show contest. In this contest you are challenged to build a diorama using peeps. The 2010 contest is closed but it doesn't mean you can't start thinking of diorama ideas for the 2011 contest. Finalist and Semifinalist diorama entries will run on The Washington Post website on April 4th. Visit Peep Show Contest to learn more about eligibility requirements and see previous Peep Show Contest entries.
#3- Play Peep Wars!
Peep time is family time! Visit Invisible City Productions to download the free printable board game that is Peep Wars. The game is played by using Peeps, Jelly Beans and the halves of a plastic Easter egg. The rules can be found on the Invisible City website. One of the fun things about this game is during combat you are allowed to eat the Peep in segments.
#4- Put on a Peep Reenactment!
What is your favorite movie? Star Wars? Lord of the Rings? Have fun with your Peeps and create a movie scene reenactment with them with your video camera or webcam. Here are a few examples of Peep Reenactments; Peep Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Lord of the Rings: Return of the Peep or my favorite movie reenactment, 300 Peeps.
#5- Learn the Science of the Peep!
An entire organization is dedicated to researching all aspects of the Marshmallow Peep. Peep Research is the place where volunteer Peeps head to undergo experiments in solubility, reactions to hot and cold, and experiments dealing with low-pressure environments. There is also medical research available on the Peeps Research site explaining the miracle of Peep Quadruplets, the effects of Smoking and Alcohol on a young Peep and a thorough study on the fear response of Peeps.
