So you're planning a trip to Historic Hendersonville NC? Or maybe you live here already, and you're looking for something to do. Either way, I'm sure you'll find something in this article worth checking out!

Main Street
Possibly one of the single most historic places to visit in Hendersonville, Main Street provides at least a full day of activities. You're sure to find more than a few stores and restaurants here that you will enjoy. From Gypsy Heart, a unique hippy-ish store where you can find beads and hemp among other things, to Mike's On Main which was once a pharmacy and is now a diner with a very classic look and feel to it. Most of the stores around here have been here since before I or even my parents were born. You will also find Tempo Music Store, and of course, the old Henderson County Courthouse which has now been converted to a museum of all things Hendersonville. There's also an interesting story which happened here that led to CourtTV's paranormal investigators visiting town, and boy, you'd be surprised what they found....

Lake Summit
A lovely lake where kids and adults alike meet and and enjoy a swim or a jump from the rope swings. In the 1960s, unfortunately, there was a triple homicide of the owners of Main Street's Tempo Music Store. 49 years later, the case has still never been solved, becoming one of Hendersonville's most outrageous and mysterious crimes. Shortly after the murders, investigators discovered the bodies of the victims around the train tracks here at Lake Summit. In 2006, CourtTV's Paranormal Investigator's visited Hendersonville in an attempt to to learn more about the murders, and found strong paranormal activity at Lake Summit where the bodies were discovered 49 years ago. Somehow this didn't surprise me much, because there has always just been something creepy about the lake at night. But during the day, you're sure to not have any problems, as you'll find kids and adults happily enjoying the summer weather, and cooling off from the hot sun.

Pisgah National Forest
If you're like most who visit Western NC, and enjoy beautiful scenery, waterfalls, hiking, and camping, Pisgah National Forest is the place to go. I myself have been up there a few times, and the forest holds some of the nicest views and hiking trails in the Carolina's. I suggest that if taking this trip, come prepared with plenty of water, and a camera, as some of the trails are as many as 9 miles, and you're sure to see some of the most beautiful landscape in the state. I've taken the liberty of including a link to a video of some of the beauty Pisgah National Forest has to offer.

The Corner Pocket
If you enjoy shooting pool, a family atmosphere, sports, and drinks, this is the place to come for a night out. I probably spent the better part of 360 days a year at this pool hall for quite a long time. Recently remodeled, Corner Pocket still offers plenty of billiard tables, weekly tournaments and a downstairs arcade, in addition to the new multiple flat screen TVs to enjoy all of your favorite sports, a Wii game system, great music, and plenty of food and drinks. The people who hang out here are great people, so you're sure to find a few new friends as well as plenty of games and entertainment to take part in.
