Keep Your Kids Busy with Some of These Great Play Time Activities

June 4th marks the beginning for summer for the children here in Spartanburg, South Carolina. And, of course that leaves us parents wondering what in the world we're going to find to keep our kids busy for 2 whole months. If you have children you know how aggravating it can be to find them sitting at home everyday whining about how bored they are. But thankfully, for us parents here in Spartanburg, local schools, churches and other organizations have organized many events and activities to help us keep our children learning and having fun this summer.

Cleveland park in Spartanburg, S.C. will be hosting its annual Take A Kid Fishing Day on June 20th starting at 8 a.m.
Pack a picnic lunch, grab the fishing poles and bring the kids on out for an afternoon spent on there wonderful scenic lake. Oh, and don't forget to bring something to feed the many ducks which share the water with the many different varieties of fish. Of course, after the fishing's over you'll want to let the kids play on the state of the art recreational equipment and ride the train which makes daily treks around the park, taking patrons on tours for just $1.00 each. They will also be sponsoring the Great American Campout on June 26th and 27th. For information on these events visit www.scparks.com.

The Barnet Park amphitheater will be hosting Movies in the Park nights on May 16th thru August 15th.
One night each month you can take the kids out to the park to watch a movie on the giant amphitheater screen, bringing back the drive in nostalgia. Don't forget your lawn chairs and snacks for the kids. There's no charge for this event. So who can resist a night of free fun?

The Pine Street YMCA will be hosting a dance for kids up to 12. The dance takes place on the second Friday night of every month at 7 p.m.

The price is only $10.00 per child and includes a night of dancing, food, fun and games.

The Spartanburg Swim Center will be having family swim days every Monday thru Thursday 11 A.M to 4 P.M. the price is only $2.00 per person.

T.K. Gregg recreational center in Spartanburg, S.C. is offering open gym basketball days every weekday 3 p.m. until 5 p.m
