Fun Summer Dresses for a Wedding

Tamara
Summer is the time to express yourself in fresh and light colors. If you are attending a wedding and aren't sure of what kinds of dresses to choose, then here a couple you may like.

Colors:

Pastels and bright colors are ideal for the hot season. You don't want to be scorched by the sun in a dark gown. Too, a darker dress doesn't mix well with summer's ambiance. Summer is a dazzling and cheerful season, so wearing something that takes away from that can ruin the feeling you may be looking for.

Some fun summer colors would be: Pastels, Pink, Green, Blue, Yellow, and Lavender. If you don't prefer pastels you can always go bold: Raspberry pink, Aqua blue, light Greens, Lemon Yellows, and Red. But be careful with how bold you go. Make sure the colors complement the surroundings, and don't present themselves as being too obnoxious for occasion.

Types of Dresses:

As I mentioned before, summer can be hot. Feeling comfortable is a major factor in fully enjoying this event. So wearing something that is confining or attracts a lot of heat can be unpleasant.

1. Tube Top Dresses: There are many adorable tube top dresses that can complement your figure and fit comfortably during the wedding. For example: wearing one that goes to the knee, flows out a little and has a bow to tie on the back, is perfect for the summer. Don't wear one that is too tight or revealing though. This type of dress will keep you cool, is great for the season, and can be dressed up for an occasion such as this (necklace, heels, earrings, etc...) This dress would be cute as a solid color, or even with flowers. To get an idea: http://www.shopstyle.com/browse?fts=tube+top+dress

2. Spaghetti Strap Dresses: If you are comfortable showing your arms, then this is a great kind of dress to wear. They have spaghetti strap dresses everywhere and in different materials. Once again, wear one that is either above the knee a little, or below the knee. Pick a light material that flows with a summer breeze. When I think spaghetti strap I think dainty. So the thought of it being a heavy dress doesn't mix well with the impression the straps give off. This dress would be perfect as a pastel, with a simple necklace and bracelet. 3. Knee length Dresses: Knee length dresses are great for the summer. Especially if you're wearing wedge toe heels with a cork bottom. They are extremely popular right now. You can find them in various styles. If you don't feel comfortable wearing a tube top cut, or a spaghetti strap then you can always find one in short sleeves. 4. Long Dresses: If you don't feel comfortable showing off your legs then long dresses may be just what you're looking for. Because you are wearing something that covers more of your body; you might feel a little warm, but by utilizing the proper colors and material you can get away with not only looking good, but feeling relaxed during the festive occasion. You can wear a heel, or if you prefer you can wear a cute sandal. Find some that have thin straps or are made with a decorative flower. Ways to dress it up: Bow ties on the back, slight ruffle on the bottom, heels, cute sandals, necklaces, bracelets, and ankle bracelets. (utilize the color silver for jewerly)

The great thing about summer is you aren't just limited to one thing. There are many beautiful colors you can utilize (including a simple flower print) and there are many light weight materials used to make these dresses. So the feeling of not having a place to find one shouldn't exist. Due to the fact they are so popular right now you can locate one of these dresses pretty much anywhere!
