What Goes on in Anjuna, Goa, India?

I recently spent two months in Anjuna, Goa, India having fun and living my life. The first thing you will want to do is rent a scooter because walking sucks (lots of honking and big buses practically sideswiping you) and it is next to impossible to do things if you only walk. If you want to save some money, there are three small grocery stores and plenty of fruit and vegetable vendors. Planning to stay in Anjuna, Goa, India a month or more? Talk to all the new friends you meet and ask if anyone is renting a room. This will save you a lot of money.

Go to the Beach: Going to the beach is a fun thing to do in Anjuna, Goa, India. Popular beaches include Vagator, Baga, Little Vagator, Spaghetti Beach and Ashwem. Free sunbeds with cushions under grass huts or shaded by sun umbrellas await you. Bring a towel or sarong to lay on, at least 200 rupees and of course your mixing bowl, rolling papers, tobacco and a lighter. Once you sit down, a friendly waitperson will arrive to take your order. Choose from an array of fresh juices and possibly some food. Vendors come around and give you a soft sell. Bargain for anything that involved fabric, and just pay the asked price for fruit and coconut juice. The best time to go is early in the morning or after 2 pm when the sun is not as strong. The sunsets are nice, spectacular ones are uncommon.

Lounge at the Swimming Pool: Taking the day at a swimming pool surrounded by a lush garden is a fun thing to do in Anjuna, Goa, India. When you tire of lounging at the beach, come and lay by the pool at the Lotus Inn or Laguna Anjuna. At opposites of Anjuna, both places are hotels that allow you to pay a small fee (150 rupees) to use the swimming pool for the day. Laguna Anjuna gives you a fresh, clean, large towel with your entrance fee. It also has a larger pool and a more interesting menu. The swimming pool at the Lotus Inn may be smaller, but it's warmer and has a stone bridge. For better or worse, you are likely to run into children at both venues. Bring about 500 rupees and

Juice Bar in Chapura: I don't know if this is exactly fun, but everyone goes to Chapura for a fresh juice and socializing that almost always involves smoking. Morning, noon and night you can meet people from around the world. Oftentimes there are more people than tables. It is common to sit down with people you don't know and have a chat while you wait up to 30 minutes for your beverage. The people watching is endless and you always have an opportunity to pet a cow or get hit by a scooter, motorcycle, car or public bus.
