Fun Things to Do During Christmas Vacation

Virginia Gaces
The holiday season is usually a great time for workers and students to enjoy their vacation. You could take this chance to do things which you may have ignored during the past months. Here are some fun things to do this holiday vacation:

1.
Family reunion

This is very common. Almost everyone has family reunions. This is the time where children go home to be with their parents. This is the month that you get to meet your relatives from across the ocean or the globe.
These are joyous moments for family and friends. Time to reminisce the past and to mend and heal broken relationships. It is also a time for forgiveness among family members.

2.
Class reunion

You could organize your class reunion, or if this is not possible, then plan a "get- together" with your close friends from high school or college. This is the best time to reminisce the past happy days and renew your bonds of friendships.

3.
Travel abroad

Now is your chance to visit that beautiful place which you have been wishing to visit the past months. It would be another year before you could have that chance again, so pack your bags and go!

4.
Write your first novel

Of course you could not finish it within 2-3 weeks but, at least, start the first chapters of your novel. Writing the first chapter of a novel is the hardest part of writing a book. You would be surprise to know you had it all in you all this time.

5.
Try a new sport/hobby

Go skydiving, scuba diving, race car driving, bungee jumping, skiing, and many more. You could also go into ballet, singing or painting too. Don't be afraid to experiment and explore new activities. Who knows? You might come up with a hidden talent worthy of discovery.

You could also bake a cake, or cook that dish you have always wanted to cook.

6.
Start a community service

You could initiate donations from generous people to start a feeding program. This might seem a daunting task, but it's really how you look at it. It is a lot of fun when you know that you're helping indigent people. You have a noble purpose and other people will catch on if they see you're dedicated to your program and would be willing to donate.

Organize a "Gift Campaign Drive" for the poor. Solicit used toys and clothing for those who don't have much.
You could put up a work shop for needy parents. This may be in cooking, health, home-based business and many more. All of these would be real fun!

The holiday vacation should not only focus on one's self but also on other people. Then, and only then, would you be able to truly experience the true meaning of the yuletide season. Have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Appreciate the ideas, thanks. Enjoying the break, even though it is bitterly cold here but not much snow (yet). Expect some soon, though.
