Fun Things to Do on a First Date

You've met a nice person. You ask him or her out on a date. The person accepts your offer. Now what? Where will you go? What will you do? How will you impress this person? How will you get this person to agree to a second date? The answer is simple: you must do something fun!

One of the worst things you can do on a first date is act like a boring person. If you give the impression that you are not a fun person, you won't be given the opportunity to have that second date. So, make sure that your first date with a new person is as fun and exciting as it can be. Do something out of the ordinary. Don't just take your date to a dinner and a movie. Everyone does that and it's not any real fun. Here are some great first date ideas that are sure to bring a smile to your date's face and guarantee you that second date.

Take your date to a cooking class where you can learn to cook a meal together and then enjoy the meal that you've cooked. This is a great ice-breaking date because you will learn a lot about each other's style, likes and dislikes, etc. It will also give you the opportunity to be creative and to work together as a team.

Ask your date to come along with you while doing some volunteer work. Whether you serve meals to the homeless, give out toys to needy children, or just help out at a local non-profit, this is a great first date idea. It will allow you to show your date that you are a caring person who takes the time to help others. It will also help you to see if this person you are dating cares about helping others. If your date doesn't seem to like the idea, perhaps that means he or she isn't a very caring or giving person. This date is not only fun and heart-warming, but it can also give you insight as to who your date really is on the inside.

Take your date on a behind the scenes tour of the local zoo. You will be able to touch and hold some of the animals that you may not be able to interact with on the regular tour. You may even get to feed some of them. You also won't have to deal with the large crowds that usually gather in some zoos. And, you will have the chance to show your date your softer side and also have some privacy as well. It's also a perfect opportunity to show your date that you care enough to schedule a private and personal tour for him or her. This should score you big points.

Go to a local roller rink or skate park and go skating. You might have to check with your date beforehand to ensure that he or she doesn't have any health issues that would prevent him or her from roller skating. But, if there aren't any of those issues, this should be a fun activity for both of you. It's a chance to recapture your youth and just have fun. You can chat while you're skating and get to know each other better. This is the perfect way to just break loose and have some fun.

If you live near an ocean or lake, take your date for a long walk on the beach and end with a picnic on the sand. You can bring along your own picnic basket and blanket and set up a romantic picnic at sunset. While the two of you enjoy the view on your walk, you can take the time to talk and get to know each other. You can go for a swim if you'd like to. You can play Frisbee on the beach, or even race each other to the picnic site. The best part about this date idea is that it gives you the freedom to be creative and also the ability to just have fun.

The most important thing to do on any first date is to take some time to get to know the person you go out with. The more you get to know about that person and the more you share with them about you, the more likely you are to have a great time and to build a relationship that can last. Most of all, just be yourself and have fun.
