Memphis is home to the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies, who play in downtown Memphis, Tennessee at the FedEx Forum, which sits near the intersection of Third and Linden. The FedEx Forum is also where the University of Memphis Tigers play their home games. When the teams aren't playing in town the FedEx Forum hosts an array of concerts and shows.
When you're in the downtown area waiting for an event at the FedEx Forum or just hanging out, check out the horse and carriage rides available. There are beautiful horses with decorated carriages waiting to take people on short trips around downtown Memphis. It's a lot of fun and you'll get to see some neat places along the way.
Another great way to tour downtown Memphis is with a duck ride. The duck tours operate with land/ water vehicles that show tourists all around downtown Memphis and the Mississippi River front. The tour even goes into the water! Tours begin at the corner of Third and Beale Street in downtown Memphis, Tennessee.
And, speaking of ducks, downtown Memphis is home for the Peabody Hotel and their ducks. You can see the real, live, and incredibly cute ducks as they march down the red carpet twice a day, at eleven in the morning and again at five in the evening. In between those times you might even get to see them swimming in the fountain.
Downtown Memphis is also the place to go to see the Memphis Redbirds play. The Redbirds are the AAA team of the St. Louis Cardinals. The games are usually exciting and every once in a while you can see a Cardinal playing with the Redbirds. There are also occasions when the Cardinals are in town for exposition games.
Downtown Memphis, Tennessee has so many things to do that don't involve Beale Street. Next time you're in downtown Memphis, Tennessee check out some of these fun activities.
