When traveling to Tennessee you have so many options it is hard to know where to begin and where you should go. This article will discuss Nashville, the music capital of the world and all the many great things you can see and do. Nashville is home to the country stars, old and young alike!
When visiting Nashville it just wouldn't be a vacation if you didn't visit the Grand Ole Opry! You can purchase tickets and go to a show and get a chance to see some of the up and coming new country artists as well as the rich and already famous country artists. On Sundays catch the rising stars of Gospel music. The Ryman Auditorium is another great place you won't want to miss.
The Opryland Hotel is a beautiful place and even if you can't afford to stay there you can visit it for free! Take a walk in their plush green surroundings and you can eat at some of their neat little restaurants located inside. It is gorgeous and if nothing else, will provide a great backdrop for photos!
The Rain Forest Cafe, located in the mall is fun place for the kids. It looks just like a rain forest and has the thunder and lightening to go with it! The kids will have fun!
Take a stroll down Music Row and check out the popular spots for the up and coming rising stars. Definitely check out the White Elephant Saloon.
Go eat lunch at the famous Bluebird Cafe. You can hear performances all during the week of new songwriters.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is a must see when you visit Nashville! This is great even if you are not a country fan and super duper if you are! See lots of personal artifacts from the country music singers of time past on up to present day talent.
If you enjoy museums you may want to check out the Tennessee State Museum. You will learn about Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone and Sam Houston. Very interesting and I guarantee you will find out something you didn't know!
The General Jackson Showboat is told to be the largest non gambling paddle boat in the world. Source: tripadvisor.com. They offer afternoon and evening dinner and shows. It's a fun outing for the whole family.
If you enjoyed watching the Dukes of Hazzard growing up then you may enjoy Cooter's Place. It is a complete one stop shop for Dukes of Hazzard fans. It is a museum and shop and operated by Cooter himself, Ben Jones. Take a peek at Cooter's truck and the General Lee!
