What do you do? First off you find a way to keep your bread fresh by using a plastic bread container like the Lock & Lock Storage Cup Bread Container , twist and fold, or twist and tuck. Then once you find the twist tie save it, and put it to good use. Here's how.
Hairstyles And Hair Accessories
Being a beautician I end up buying hundreds of hair scrunchies to use on my hair and my daughter's. However, half the time when I am in a rush searching for one I can never find them. Use a bread tie. Why?
One they come in all different colors, two less damage on the hair, and last but not least holds the hair secure in place.
You can use the tie for a simple ponytail, secure the end of a braid, use multiple ties and create a colorful pony, wrap hair up in curls at night, secure the end of a hair processing cap, keep all your bobby pins together, or create colorful flat twists on the hair.
Fun Animal Toys
When the twist ties are on my floor my cat always seems to get a hold of them. At first I was afraid he would choke, but after watching the cat play for 15 minutes I knew the tie would be ok.To make me feel more secure I put 3-5 ties together. This always my cat to have extra leeway when running around the house with it.
Have a dog who wear a collar? Add some festive decoration to it? For Christmas use red and green, Valentine's Day red, pink, white, Fourth Of July red and blue, and Saint Patrick's Day green.
Around The House
Do you have loose drinking straws all over the place? Put 2-3 straws together and tie them up with the twist tie. For me since I have three kids 2 boys and a girl I tie 2 boy colors with one girl color. So every time my kids need a straw all I have to do is grab the small bunch.
Kids love to decorate their shoes, sneakers, and even belts. Loops a few ties in-between their shoelaces for added fun. Watch how many kids will rush home and ask their parents for the bread twisty.
How many of you parents have crayons or Silly Bandz all over your house? Place 2-3 crayons or bracelets in a bunch and tie them up.You can even use them to gather small Barbie clothes up as well. Don't throw them away, recycle and reuse.

This is a great article. We let the cats have the twist ties frequently. Sometimes I think they take them off the loaves of bread when we are asleep.
Just sending a PV blessing and wishing you the best in 2011!
