There are many ways that you can entertain your toddler during the winter months. Following are a few suggestions that you ideas for fun winter activities. If you happen to have a basement then you may want to think about setting up a play room down there. Even if you do not have a finished basement there are ways that you can set it up for tons of fun. First make sue that your basement is carpeted, so that the little ones do not get hurt. Next you will need a few small children tables, which you can find at any children's toy store, for very little money. Then you can set up play stations that happen to be very similar to the way that school is. This will definitely help when your child is ready to start school. You can try making each play center fun and educational. For example one center can be set up for play dough. Put out a few jars of play dough and some accessories, along with a drop cloth on the floor to avoid getting any play dough in your carpet. For another station you can set up a kitchen area, where they can pretend to cook goodies. Use your imagination when it comes to the various play areas. Remember the more creative that you are the more creative the children will be.
If you do not have a basement then you can still have tons of fun activities for your children. You can begin by picking a baking day. Pick one day of the week where you will back something special. It could be muffins, cookies or cake. Let your kids decorate them any way they want this will make it a lot more fun. You can also purchase a children's karaoke game that can be played on your television. Kids love to be able to dance around, sing and just be silly. There are plenty of children's karaoke games to choose from, just make sure that you pick one that is appropriate for your little ones age. Another fun idea is to try an afternoon camp out right in your living room. You can start by setting up a children's tent right in your living room. There very small and easy to assemble. Then you can surprise your kids with their own sleeping bags. You can roast marshmallows, and tell stories. Your kids will definitely love camping out in the house on a day where they can not play outside. These are just a very few suggestions on fun things that you can do during those very cold winter days when children just can not get outdoors. Try thinking of your own fun activities that you can do with your children. Don't wait until it actually snows to plan them out. Make your list now and then when you get a cold day you will not be scrambling for something to do.
