1. Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo is one of those movies that is cute and funny for kids. This movie has a whole bunch of different talking sea creatures with voices from some well known stars. There are clownfish, schools of other fish, sharks, sting rays, sea horses, and more. This Disney/Pixar movie has a simple plot that kids can follow and understand. A clownfish named Marlin searches for his son after he is caught by a mysterious figure while on a school field trip. He teams up with a blue fish named Dory who is voiced over by Ellen DeGeneres. I must say that Ellen DeGeneres did a wonderful voiceover and was hilarious. The interaction between the two is hilarious throughout the whole film and the animation is wonderful. I chose this film because all of the little sayings made me laugh nonstop when I first saw it. It will be a true favorite.
2. Ice Age One
Ice Age is one of those movies that really grab a child's attention. It is another one of those talking animal movies who are voiced over by some well known actors. Ray Romano provides a hilarious voiceover for Manny the mammoth, Dennis Leary provides a voiceover for Diego the sabertooth tiger, and John Leguizamo provides a truly hilarious voiceover for Sid the sloth. The three come together and find themselves stuck with a human infant and try to find its family. Along the way, they discover the true meaning of friendship. I must say that I love the performances by Ray Romano and John Leguizamo. I chose this film for my list because the characters will have children everywhere laughing their pants off. Also, it will teach them the true meaning of friendship.
3. Ice Age Two: The Meltdown
Ice Age: The Meltdown is a continuation of the first movie and is just as funny as the first movie. Sid, Diego, and Manny are back for a whole new hilarious adventure. There is also an introduction to new characters including a pair of hilarious possums and a girl mammoth who is voiced over by Queen Latifah. Queen Latifah does a wonderful job voicing over Ellie the mammoth. The group must journey their way through a valley to escape a flood that is caused my melting ice. In my opinion, this movie is better and more hilarious than the first. I chose this movie because it has humor that is not always seen in children movies.
4. A Bug's Life
I saw this movie when I was eleven years old and I thought it was a hilarious animated movie. The movie takes place in an ant colony where a misfit ant named Flik is kicked out of the ant colony for losing all of the food that the aunts had collected for villain grasshoppers. Flik comes across some hilarious bugs that will save the day. It is a truly hilarious movie. Kevin Spacey does a wonderful voiceover for Hopper, the main villain in the movie. While some villains are not funny, Hopper is one of those villains that will make you hate him and laugh at his antics. When one sees how the bugs interact with each other, they will not be able to stop laughing. Your children will love this movie.
5. Walle
Walle was a very cute and funny movie about a robot lost in a world abandoned by humans. He meets a robot from outer space that is looking for life on Earth. He follows the robot back to a place where humans are staying and are controlled by robots. He and the other robot, Eve, must free them. Walle is a clumsy little robot who is very curious about things around him. He robot voice along with his clumsiness will surely make children laugh.
